In observance of November as National Native American Heritage Month, UUFSM is honored to welcome guest speaker Natalie Standingontherock Proctor to provide the morning’s message. Natalie is a born member of the Wild Turkey Clan, Cedarville Band of Piscataway People. She is the Tribal Chair for the clan/band and has traveled as far away as Poland and Israel representing Maryland’s Indigenous people. Until its recent closure, she served as the Director for the Piscataway Indian Museum. For many years, Natalie and her clan and organization have dedicated themselves to teaching the history and culture of the Chesapeake Bay region. We look forward with great anticipation to this opportunity to gain first-hand understanding of local indigenous culture and history.
