On October 16, UUFSM members will join in the improvement project at Church of the Ascension, our host location. There are significant renovations underway, including the addition of showers and rest space for the unhoused. This work is partially funded by the Lowe’s Hometowns program.  As part of this grant, Lowe’s deploys a number of its store associates–wearing their signature red vests!–to help make spaces ready to bless their community. From 9am-2pm, we’ll be painting the inside of the church and other spaces, doing other work in and around the church campus in Lexington Park.

All are welcome. Church and community members–and Lowe’s store associates–will share a great day of fellowship and meaningful work. Doors open at 8:30am for registration and check-in, and breakfast and lunch are provided.
