Sunday service, September 8 – Water Ceremony

As we participate this Sunday in our annual ingathering and water ceremony, let us reflect on the special appeal that water has within the human heart. Water from ancient springs, high mountain streams and our own Chesapeake Bay trickles and streams through our memories and our imaginations if we only pause to think on it.

Please bring to worship a small container of water from a place that is meaningful to you, perhaps from your summer travels or a special place in or around your home. Each of us will pour a little water into the community bowl and share its significance to us with one another.  The children will start in their own classroom and will be invited to participate in the water ceremony.

Join us on zoom or in person as we gather in gratitude and solidarity with all the earth and the life that inhabits it to contemplate our relationship with water.
